It's really hard for me to put into words how much this session has done for me creatively. Trying to find your own style in the photography world is so difficult, especially when there are so many brilliant photographers out there. I have wanted to shoot at this location for over a year now and found it when I wasn't able to photograph at all (thanks covid). When it came time to picking models, I already knew I wanted to use Cheyenne and her beautiful children. I told her I wanted to shoot a session here and needed practice capturing those intimate moments between a mother and her child(ren) and use some new editing techniques to make the images more unique. I knew she'd understand that this would take time because she just launched her own photography business this year and I am so proud of how far she has come in such a short amount of time! (Seriously, she's killing it!)
I wanted these to have a timeless feel with a touch of film/vintage vibes. I didn't want many props at all so I brought a lace blanket (I'm pretty positive this is actually a tablecloth), a wicker lunch pail, and a book. It took me a few weeks to get them to look just how I wanted but man...these are at the top of my list for favorite images ever shot. Thank you Cheyenne, Bailey, and Grayson for being so much fun at the top of a mountain.
Enjoy :)
